Aging In Place & Special Needs

Most people would chose to remain in their homes as they grow older, but due to age-related infirmities they are often unable to navigate around comfortably and safely. Be Still Design specializes in creating designs that allow easy movement into the home and lighting features that maximize light where it is needed most to allow safe passage.

Here you see two examples of wider steps with lower risers for gentle egress with railings placed for support. Also shown are light fixtures at each set of risers that provide more illumination then is generally provided for average homeowners, allowing the client to step confidently into their house. In addition, the low wall that borders the walk way provides a resting spot and a place from which the front yard may be enjoyed.
